CHAPTER 1-
THE BIG LEAP

The biggest leap of faith that I have ever taken in my life was when I decided to leave my six-figure corporate career of 22 years to follow my passion. My passion was to help individuals and families navigate this unique ADHD journey. For over a decade, I coached, trained, and successfully led teams of employees and was responsible for identifying opportunities, helping them improve, and produce results. It was scary to leave the secure and jump into the unknown but there was this strong push in my heart that I could no longer ignore.

I knew there was more for me to do in this world, there were individuals who needed my help, so I decided to just do it... LEAP!

CHAPTER 2-
HOW IT STARTED

Boys are typically busy, but my son was on another level of busy. The daycare noticed as well and recommended a program where a therapist would come to the school and my home to observe him. After weeks of observing my son, the therapist recommended I have him evaluated. The results confirmed he had ADHD. Although it was a relief to have an explanation, it was scary and overwhelming as I set out on a quest to help my son. I learned an ADHD brain is wired differently and as a result, it impacts the neurological development of the brain that helps us plan, focus, self-manage impulses, and emotions, and execute tasks. These symptoms can cause individuals to have difficulty at school, home, work, and socially. As I read more and more, mom empathy started to kick in and I begin to ask why my child?

I heard a voice within say, he is a special order from God, you are equipped to handle this!

CHAPTER 3-
DISCOVERING THE MISSING PIECE

On this ADHD journey, it can be overwhelming and exhausting. There have been times when I felt so hopeless, but when I looked at my son, I knew I couldn't give up. As I watched him go through all that ADHD brings, it would break my heart and push me harder to stay the course. I could only imagine how he felt on the inside with a young mind trying to comprehend all that he was feeling and experiencing. I have witnessed many people who interact with individuals with ADHD that don't "get them" and what they go through- the lack of understanding, the labels, and the judgment. This results in individuals with ADHD and parents being misunderstood and feeling unsupported on this journey.

That void, that missing piece I was feeling in my life, I DISCOVERED IT!

I discovered this ADHD parenting journey was for a reason. It prepared me for my purpose which is to educate, encourage, and equip individuals and families struggling to navigate ADHD. The 10 years of corporate experience coaching, training, and motivating employees to WIN were skills and tools to equip me for what was to come- coaching, training, and motivating parents and individuals with ADHD to WIN!
